The Role

RHEON LABS is looking for a Computational Designer to support us through our next phase of growth as a company.

You will work within our Protection BU to deliver creative computational and parametric design solutions for impact protection projects across helmets, body armour and device protection. You will be working closely with international clients such as Harley-Davidson, Ruroc and Milwaukee Tool to deliver products that rethink possible in the world of protection.

 

Responsibilities

·    Set up and manage parametric and computational design workflows to generate project-specific solutions

·    Deliver design solutions and supporting documentation for helmet, device and body protection products, supporting multiple projects from initial concept through to launch

·    Work within a multi-disciplinary team of product developers, engineers, designers, and project managers. Be confident holding your colleagues to deliver high standard designs

·    Maintain effective communication with clients - capturing requirements, coming up with creative solutions, managing client’s expectations and delivering solutions that are innovative and consider user experience as much as functional and manufacturing requirements

·    Document and present design concepts to internal stakeholders and clients

·    Collaborate with Project Managers, Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance and Quality to ensure successful design output

·    Be a role model for the company’s values (Collaboration, Innovation, Empowerment and Rigour) and set an example for other staff 

·    Work hours are 9am-6pm Mon-Fri subject to flexible working around core hours

·    This position will report into the Senior Product Developer

Job requirements

Required:

·    Bachelors degree or equivalent technical training in Product Design, Engineering, Architecture or related field

·    Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Rhinoceros 3D and Grasshopper

·    Articulate communicator,  able to convey design technology concepts to all levels of design and delivery leadership

·    Creative thinker dedicated to problem solving, research and innovation

·    1+ years experience in a design role throughout all phases of design and delivery

·    Punctual, able to adhere to deadlines, and have a strong work ethic

 

Desirable:

·    Experience with Design for Manufacture (DFM) for injection molding and additive manufacture processes

·    Passion for sports and/or sports products

·    C++, Python or other coding experience, especially ghPython

·    Knowledge of other design applications such as Fusion360, Solidworks, Adobe Creative Cloud Suite, etc.
